The Leaderboard Tab lets you see how your dog's step count ranks against other dogs in weekly competitions for each leaderboard. Fi Leaderboards are different groupings within the Fi App based on breed, location, and age (for example, Miniature Poodle, California, and Puppies).
| Please note that you will need Social Features enabled to join any leaderboards, and that Leaderboards are not available for cats. Additionally, leaderboards are available for only Fi Mini and Series trackers. |
All leaderboard rankings are based on weekly competitions from Monday to Sunday, as well as 30-day rolling step counts. Rankings update in real time. Only the top 100,000 dogs are shown in each leaderboard.

Please note: your rank will not populate until your dog's second day on Fi, because ranking information needs time to be collected.

Different Kinds of Leaderboards
Your dog can compete in these leaderboards:
-
All Dogs on Fi: shows your dog's ranking among the top 100,000 dogs within the Fi Community. Your dog is automatically placed into All Dogs on Fi and one of the age-related categories based on their birthday, with the following breakdown:
- Puppies: Less than 3 years.
- Adults: 3 to 10 years.
- Seniors: 11 years or more.
-
Breed: shows your dog's ranking within their specific breed (breed rankings are only available when there are enough dogs in the breed category). Your dog is automatically placed into the breed chosen when creating their Fi Profile.
- You cannot join other Fi Breed leaderboards.
- You can update your dog's breed by editing their breed in the Profile Tab.
- Once you change your dog's breed, your rankings update in real time.
- City: shows your dog's ranking among the Fi Leaderboard in your home city (if available).
-
State: shows your dog's ranking among the Fi Leaderboard in your home state.
- You cannot join multiple city and state leaderboard.
- Your city and state leaderboard is automatically generated based on the city and state set in your primary safe zone.
- To change the city and state leaderboard your dog is competing in, you will need to update your primary safe zone. Once this ifs updated, you will be removed from your previous city and state (if the new location is different).
- Once you change your city and state, your rankings update in real time.
- Your Contacts: By giving Fi access to your mobile device's contact list, you can compete with friends who also use Fi. Additionally, you can invite contacts who are not yet part of Fi and earn a free month toward your Membership. Please note that only Full-Access Members can view Contact Rankings.
Weekly Competitions
Every Monday morning, your dog's step count resets to zero so everyone starts the week fresh. As you walk your dog during the week, your position on the leaderboard updates in real time.
On Sunday night, the competition locks and the final results are set. If your push notifications are on, you'll get notified when your weekly recap card is ready.
Your weekly recap card shows:
- Your final position on the leaderboard.
- Total steps for the week.
- How many steps separated you from the next position.
- Your weekly trend.
- Streak status.
You can take a screenshot of your recap card to share your results, or directly share them to social media in the Fi App through your Weekly Review.
30-Day Rolling Rank
See how your dog's step count compares to other Fi leaderboard members across the past 30 days.
Seeing your dog's rankings fall? This can happen for a few reasons:
- You are new to the Fi Community. During your first 30 days, your dog's steps only accumulate. Rankings stabilize after this period and may fluctuate based on activity.
- We all have a down day. Fluctuations happen if your dog has less activity in the 30-day period. Rankings update in real time.
- Other dogs in your leaderboard are more active. For example, dogs in warmer climates may walk more during winter than others.
You can divide your target steps (for example, 1 million) by 30 to set your custom daily goal in the Activity Menu. You can learn more in the Activity Tracking article.
You can only set goals in 500-step increments. For 1 million steps in 30 days, set your goal to 33,500 steps/day.
Daily Ranking Position Change
Each day, the Leaderboard Tab shows if your dog's ranking position has moved up or down and by how many positions. This information is different for every Leaderboard you are part of.
Above your Rank number, it will show an upward arrow if your dog has moved up in their Rank and a downward arrow if they have moved down.
Add Contacts
Expand your Fi Community by inviting friends from your contact list. Once they join, they can compete with you in the Leaderboard Tab.
You and your invitee will be rewarded. Learn how to invite your friends and family from your contact list here.
